Chilanga, Wednesday, 21 August, 2024 – Indo Zambia Bank has today conducted a capacity-building training session for 15 enterprises benefiting from the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) loans. The training, aimed at enhancing the business acumen and financial management skills of the beneficiaries, was held in the Council Chambers and was graced by the Indo Zambia Bank Manager of the Chilanga Branch, Mr. Pretoria Chikwamba.
In his remarks, Mr. Chikwamba emphasised the critical role financial institutions play in supporting local businesses. He highlighted that Indo Zambia Bank is committed to fostering the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by not only providing access to finance but also offering essential training that equips business owners with the knowledge to manage their finances responsibly. “At Indo Zambia Bank, we believe that capacity building is just as important as financial support. By empowering these entrepreneurs with the right skills, we are ensuring that they are well-positioned for success, ultimately contributing to the economic development of Chilanga District,” he said.
Mr. Chikwamba further encouraged the beneficiaries to leverage the knowledge gained during the training to maximise the impact of their businesses within the community. He assured them of the bank’s continued support as they navigate their entrepreneurial journeys.
The Chilanga CDF Committee Chairperson, Mr. Pumulo, delivered the welcoming remarks and congratulated the beneficiaries for being selected for the 2024 CDF loans. He also issued a stern warning about the misuse of funds, urging the beneficiaries to remain committed to utilising the financial resources effectively and for their intended purposes. “This opportunity is a stepping stone toward building sustainable businesses that can uplift the livelihoods of many in our community. However, with this opportunity comes responsibility. I urge you to ensure that every kwacha is accounted for and used wisely. Misuse of funds will not only hinder your progress but also affect future opportunities for others,” Mr. Pumulo stated.
The training marks a key step in the partnership between Chilanga Town Council and Indo Zambia Bank in supporting the growth of local enterprises through the CDF program. The initiative is part of the Council’s broader commitment to fostering economic development in Chilanga District by empowering local businesses with the tools and resources necessary for long-term success.
