CHILANGA GIVES A GREEN LIGHT AHEAD OF THE ECZ MASS VOTER REGISTRATION EXERCISE

With a national voter registration target of 3.5 million citizens, Chilanga Town Council is fully prepared to play its part in ensuring that every eligible voter is reached and informed.
The Council is pleased to announce that 15 Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) have today been officially deployed across all 12 wards of Chilanga District. The facilitators, who recently completed their training under the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), will be responsible for conducting intensive voter education activities in their respective communities.
Dressed in their distinctive green bibs and equipped with megaphones, the VEFs will easily be identifiable as they move across communities to share vital information on voter registration, electoral participation, and citizens’ rights and responsibilities.
Their core mandate is to sensitize residents on the importance of voter registration, promote inclusive participation, and provide accurate information to help citizens make informed decisions about their right to vote ahead of the mass voter registration exercise scheduled to commence on 13th October 2025.
Chilanga Town Council therefore encourages all residents to warmly receive and engage with the Voter Education Facilitators when approached. These facilitators are equipped with essential information and materials designed to guide members of the public through the voter registration process.
Through this initiative, the Council reaffirms its commitment to supporting the ECZ in ensuring that no eligible voter is left behind in the upcoming registration exercise
