Chilanga Town Council today convened an engagement meeting with Constituency Development Fund Committee (CDFC) members, Council officers, and Ward Development Committees (WDCs) at Kumwaka Guest Lodge, to review progress and strengthen coordination in the implementation of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The meeting provided a platform for participants to exchange insights, address challenges, and share strategies aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the management of CDF projects across the district. The area Member of Parliament, Hon. Sipho Hlazo, who graced the engagement meeting commended Chilanga Town Council for fostering dialogue and collaboration among key stakeholders in the implementation of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, Hon. Hlazo reaffirmed his support towards ensuring that CDF resources are applied effectively to meet the developmental needs of the people of Chilanga.
CDFC Chairperson Mr. Sinabu Pumulo emphasised the importance of collaboration and open communication, noting that sustainable development can only be achieved when all key partners work together towards shared goals. Discussions centered on infrastructure development, delayed projects, classroom construction, formation of sub-committees, and the drilling of boreholes to improve community welfare.
The engagement concluded with a strong commitment from all participants to reinforce collaboration, accountability, and efficiency in executing CDF projects across Chilanga Constituency. In attendance were the Acting District Commissioner, Ms. Maureen Chilende, and the Acting Council Secretary, Eng. Mukaka Chileshe, who both underscored the importance of accountability, teamwork, and timely execution of CDF projects to achieve tangible results within communities.
