SOMBER SCENES AS CHILANGA DISTRICT OBSERVES A MOMENT OF SILENCE IN HONOUR OF GBV VICTIMS

This morning, Chilanga Council Chairperson, Mr. Champion Tembo, led attendees at the Zambia Institute of Research Institute in lying down on the floor as a symbolic gesture of remembrance for victims who lost their lives to gender-based violence. The solemn act formed part of the ongoing commemoration of the 16 Days of Gender Activism.

This year’s theme, “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” underscores the urgent call for collective action to build safer and more inclusive digital spaces for all.

Joining the symbolic act were Ward Councillor Kalenge Monde and Council Secretary Francis Ndola, who also lay down in honour of the victims.
