The Public Health Section is dedicated to safeguarding citizen health by proactively addressing environmental hazards and promoting healthy living conditions. This section’s core functions are as follows:
• Environmental Health Management: This includes the comprehensive management of waste collection and sanitation services to maintain optimal city hygiene and prevent the spread of disease.
• Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: The department implements targeted health education campaigns and disease and pest control initiatives to empower citizens with knowledge and protect them from preventable illnesses.
• Regulatory Oversight: Coordinating inspectorate functions ensures adherence to public health standards and regulations across various sectors.
• Emergency Preparedness and Response: The department maintains specialized sub-units to effectively manage and respond to public health emergencies, including funeral arrangements during crises and proactive outbreak preparedness measures.
