The council offers the following services to the community:

• Installation of street lighting
• Construction of Ablution block at Council Markets, government and community schools
• Construction of Market shelters within Chilanga District
• Stakeholders consultative meetings
• Community sensitization meetings on Council activities
• Undertake Land use audit
• Coordinate developmental projects in Chilanga District
• Ensuring that development projects comply with the provision of the Environmental Management Act of 2011 under the Zambia Environment Management Agency ( Quarry, Manufacturing, and Cement Companies)
• Developing the Chilanga Integrated Development Plan
• Issuance of Health permit, Trading license, and Fire license to Business owners
• Monitoring of development activities in the District
• Undertake building inspections for both Residential / Commercial properties.
• Maintenance of Roads and Drainages
• Vegetation control
• Issuance of Occupancy Licenses / Occupation Certificates
